"Maven Wines embarked on an ambitious project to plant
potted vines on a 200 acre Wairau Valley vineyard in 2004; Given the magnitude of
the task we chose to engage the services of Berakah Vineyard Management. The
project to establish a large scale vineyard operation was handled flawlessly by
Berakah and the Maven brand released its inaugural vintage in 2005.
"Throughout the past three vintages, Berakah’s people have
formed an integral part of Maven Wine’s management team. They have worked closely
with the commercial team and the winemaker to deliver fruit from a single vineyard
operation to the exact specifications expected by Maven’s international
distributors and customers. As a result of Berakah’s involvement in this
collaborative approach Maven’s wines have won several international awards
including a Sydney Top 100 for its 2007 Pinot Gris and a Gold Medal for its 2007
Sauvignon Blanc in the world-renowned International Wine Challenge.
"Damian Adams and the broader team have been an invaluable
part of the Maven success story and have been good natured and patient in their
explanations of viticultural practice to a team of people new to the wine
industry. They have provided excellent leadership within our business and are a
key point of difference for us in an ever more competitive international market
place."
- Phill Dagger, General Manager, Maven Wines
"Berakah manage a 60 hectare property in a challenging
environment and have helped immensely in managing the vineyard from a fledgling
development to a successful vineyard. Damian and Malcolm's involvement has been
first class and they have ensured that this syndicate investment can be passively
managed. The other owners have total confidence in Berakah's viticulture and
management guidance. The proof is in the pudding with premium quality grapes and
excellent yields achieved in terms of our supply contracts."
